2013 Ford F150 Twin Turbo Repairs

Kevin just completed repairs to the drivers side Turbo. The coolant lines and fittings were leaking under pressure. This of course happened after the water pump (external pump) was replaced for a bad bearing and seal. So for access to the Turbo’s, most notably the drivers side, the entire Cab needed to be lifted off the chassis. As evidence in our shop pictures, it is doable and safe…but not at home,  and not without the proper equipment and skills.

1970 Chevelle

Owner James Meeks, Woodstock, Georgia.
We completed numerous repairs and upgrades to Jim’s car over the past year. From a full suspension upgrade both front and rear; transmission upgrade; rear axle repair; wiring harness replacement; and many other cosmetic enhancements, which included a multi-step paint correction.
We truly appreciate the opportunity to work on his car, and hope that we met or exceeded his expectations.
Thanks Jimmy and Happy Motoring!

Update on Jimmy’s 1970 Chevelle

Not satisfied with the performance of his tired 454 Engine, he opted to install a new Crate 454 Engine with all the dressings and upgrades. Kevin Harrison has been tirelessly working long days and nights getting the new motor installed and all the hardware to work correctly. Contrary to popular belief, those TV Automotive Reality shows are full of hogwash. Nothing goes smoothly on a retro fit of a new engine in an old car. Everything from motor mounts, to fan wiring, to gauge sensors, to header fitment, and a thousand other “nit-noid” issues will have you pulling your hair out. It’s on the homestretch now though. We’re waiting on a few small parts to finish up Jimmy’s project, and then hopefully start working on another project waiting in the wings.

Not All Oil Changes are Created Equal

As the saying goes, you get what you pay for.

If you perform your own oil and filter changes, then you know what you’re getting for your money. By far it’s the “best bang for your buck”. You pick the oil, filter and do the change in your garage or driveway in a safe manner (always use jack stands, or ramps, and chock the tires). Always dispose of the oil and filter properly (the auto parts stores will take your used oil for free) and then get back to motoring.

But if you prefer to have someone else complete the change, then by all means don’t chose the “Cheapest Deal or Groupon available”. To be truly honest (like there’s any other way to be honest), there’s no money in doing oil changes as a shop. It’s more of a loss leader to get you in. The money is made on the “extras” that you get talked into. Fuel system flush, antifreeze flush, power steering flush, and the list goes on. So the true money is in the added service that can be sold.

That being said, at All Classic Car Service, we don’t try to sell you services you don’t want or need. We may point out items that need attention, but as far as we are concerned, you can drive it away the same way you drove it in. That doesn’t mean we won’t tell you and document the items found. It’s our liability to tell you there’s a problem – it’s your responsibility to have it repaired.

As family, friends, and customers have heard me say time and again: “Don’t go cheap on Brakes, Tires and Oil Changes!” Go cheap on something else with your car or truck – like an air freshener!
